Making Savory Pecan Favorites

There isn't much that compares to the taste of fresh pecans. Pecans are naturally sweet nuts with an almost maple-like flavor, making them the best addition to sweet or savory recipes.

Today, we will look at a few different ways to use those fresh pecans in dishes at home.

Savory Spiced Pecans

Making Savory Pecan Favorites This first one is a great snack option and can easily be taken on the go. It also makes for a great fall recipe but can certainly be enjoyed any time of the year.

What You Need:

  • 4 cups of pecans
  • 1/3 cup melted and unsalted butter
  • 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon ground mustard
  • Tabasco sauce to taste
  • Cayenne pepper to taste

What To Do:

Preheat your oven to 300-degrees Fahrenheit. Whisk together all the ingredients minus the pecans in a large mixing bowl. Once mixed, pour it over the pecans and stir until all of the pecans are coated. Place the pecans on a baking sheet and pop them in the oven for 20 minutes until they are toasted and golden brown.

BBQ Pecans

  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
  • ¼ cup Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon ketchup
  • 2 quick dashes of your favorite hot sauce
  • 4 cups pecan halves
  • Salt and Pepper

What To Do:

Mix all your ingredients minus the pecans in a mixing bowl. Once done, pour the mixture over your pecans and stir to coat. Spread the pecans evenly onto a baking sheet and pop them into a preheated 400-degree Fahrenheit oven for about 15 minutes, taking care to stir your pecans every five minutes. Cool and enjoy.

Smokey, Spicy Pecans

If you want a little spice and smokiness, you have to try this snacking option with your fresh pecans.

What You Need:

  • 2 cups pecan halves
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • 1 ½ tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 teaspoons chili powder
  • ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper

What To Do:

Preheat oven to 300-degrees Fahrenheit. Mix all your ingredients minus the pecans. Once done, coat the pecans with the mixture and make sure they are evenly coated. Pop the pecans in the oven for about 10 minutes.
